Sign wars spark "beef" in eastern NC

Two Carteret County businesses started a sign war, and the whole region got in on it. Dank Burrito and neighbor Ioanni’s Grill, run by two friends, traded jabs on their marquee boards for over a week, the puns got sharper, other businesses joined in, and the local news picked it up.
There’s a lesson under the jokes. Businesses often treat the sign as a one-time expense: name, logo, done. A sign with a changeable element, marquee letters or an LED board, is a channel you own. No algorithm, no ad spend, read by every car that passes, every day. The businesses winning the sign war weren’t the ones with the biggest signs; they were the ones whose signs could say something new by lunchtime.
The viral week brought fresh eyes to businesses across several counties, from social shares and from plain drive-by attention. If your sign can’t join a conversation like that, or it’s just plain tired, we can print, fabricate, retrofit, or repair whatever it needs.
