Morehead City, Swansboro, Cape Carteret, Atlantic Beach: the Crystal Coast is standing work for us, from the Carteret Health Care campus to the carved-look restaurant signs on the beach strips. Salt air is the design constraint nobody talks about: coatings, hardware, and cabinet drainage all have to be spec’d for it or the sign chalks and streaks in three summers. Ours are spec’d for it.
Local judgment matters on permits here more than most places. The city bans sign types that are legal one town over (feather flags, for instance, are fine in the county and banned in city limits), the rules were amended in 2025, and county addresses play by a different book entirely. Telling you the right answer for your exact address is part of the quote, not a surcharge.
We know the local sign scene well enough to have covered the Morehead City sign war between Dank Burrito and Ioanni’s, two of the county’s better marquee boards trading jokes. If your board is the one that can’t keep up, that’s fixable.
